گرچہ کمرے میں اندھیرا تھا بہت
میں نے ہونٹوں سے اُسے دیکھا بہت
کب تلک آباد رہتیں کشتیاں
مجھ میں دریا کم تھے اور صحرا بہت
آئنہ دیکھا تو مایوسی ہوئی
میں تو اب بھی ویسا ہوں تھوڑا بہت
اک خزانہ جو کبھی تھا ہی نہیں
کر گیا آخر مجھے گہرا ، بہت
میں بھی جانے کتنا مل پایا اُسے
کیا غرض وہ مجھ کو کم ہے یا بہت
مجھ پہ کوئی رنگ و روغن کیا کرے!
کام کم ہوتا ہے اور خرچہ بہت
