Deep Trembles

Poet: Mubina By: Mubina, Lahore

Trembling with the fear of earned ends
I watch people trade hearts for cash

Trembling with the fear of loss
I watch children fade into dust

Trembling at the sight of ignorance
I watch people let go of spirituality

Trembling at the sight of cowards
I watch people be reckless with words

Trembling over some spilled tears
I watch people smile behind pains

Trembling over sustaining identity
I watch people ignore their purpose

Trembling with visible doubt
I smile at the sight of kind souls

Trembling with the need to follow
I watch pious people breath with peace
