آرام جو دیکھا ہے بھلایا نہیں جاتا
اللہ رے نادان جوانی کی امنگیں!
جیسے کوئی بازار سجایا نہیں جاتا
آنکھوں سے پلاتے رہو ساغر میں نہ ڈالو
اب ہم سے کوئی جام اٹھایا نہیں جاتا
بولے کوئی ہنس کر تو چھڑک دیتے ہیں جاں بھی
لیکن کوئی روٹھے تو منایا نہیں جاتا
جس تار کو چھیڑیں وہی فریاد بہ لب ہے
اب ہم سے عدمؔ ساز بجایا نہیں جاتا
