دیواریں چھوٹی ہوتی تھیں لیکن پردہ ہوتا تھا
تالے کی ایجاد سے پہلے صرف بھروسہ ہوتا تھا
کبھی کبھی آتی تھی پہلے وصل کی لذت اندر تک
بارش ترچھی پڑتی تھی تو کمرہ گیلا ہوتا تھا
شکر کرو تم اس بستی میں بھی اسکول کھلا ورنہ
مر جانے کے بعد کسی کا سپنا پورا ہوتا تھا
جب تک ماتھا چوم کے رخصت کرنے والی زندہ تھی
دروازے کے باہر تک بھی منہ میں لقمہ ہوتا تھا
بھلے زمانے تھے جب شعر سہولت سے ہو جاتے تھے
نئے سخن کے نام پہ اظہرؔ میرؔ کا چربہ ہوتا تھا
