Ocean Waves

Poet: Mubina By: Mubina, Lahore

Standing near the ocean waves,
I endured the icy breezes,
I let go of the golden shells,
I enjoyed the blue dreams.

Standing near the ocean waves,
I praised the ignored beauty,
I tripped over slippery stones,
I enjoyed the faded gleam.

Standing near the ocean waves,
I thought of taking a stand,
I vowed to fight the wrong,
I acknowledged a brave facade.

Standing near the ocean waves,
I survived the bitter seaweeds,
I gleamed at the silent reflections,
I pondered over quiet clouds.

Standing near the ocean waves,
I observed the warm sand,
I played with shallow rocks,
I built small sand shelters.

Standing near the ocean waves,
I turned towards spirituality,
I tried to be the better me,
I cried away tears of weakness.
