جیسے صحرا سے کوئی تشنہ دہاں گزرے ہے
اس طرح تلخیٔ ایام سے بڑھتی ہے خراش
جیسے دشنام عزیزوں پہ گراں گزرے ہے
اس طرح دوست دغا دے کے چلے جاتے ہیں
جیسے ہر نفع کے رستے سے زیاں گزرے ہے
یوں بھی پہنچے ہیں کچھ افسانے حقیقت کے قریب
جیسے کعبہ سے کوئی پیر مغاں گزرے ہے
ہم گنہ گار جو اس سمت نکل جاتے ہیں
ایک آواز سی آتی ہے فلاں گزرے ہے arbaz
نالۂ شام غریباں بیچتا پھرتا ہوں میں
موج بربط موج گل موج صبا کے ساتھ ساتھ
نکہت گیسوئے خوباں بیچتا پھرتا ہوں میں

Shorish Kashmiri Poetry - The great poet, leader, writer, and scholar. Shorish Kashmiri was born in Lahore, India on 14 August 1917. It is quite relatable to call him a multitalented man as he has served as Journalist, orator, poet, political activist, and historian. In 1935, he began his politics career. In 1946, Kashmiri was elected as Secretary-General of All-India Majlis-e-Ahrar-e-Islam.
His poems reflect his strong leadership qualities and his stance on life and politics. He has served as chief editor of the weekly Chattan'' magazine, in Pakistan. Shorish has penned many books including Abul Kalam Azad, Sawaneh Syed Attaullah Shah Bukhari, Faizan e Iqbal, Maut Se Wapsi, Shab Jaay Ke Man Boodam, Chehre, Qalmi Chehre.
