پر میں کیا کرتی کہ زنجیر ترے نام کی تھی
جس کے ماتھے پہ مرے بخت کا تارہ چمکا
چاند کے ڈوبنے کی بات اسی شام کی تھی
میں نے ہاتھوں کو ہی پتوار بنایا ورنہ
ایک ٹوٹی ہوئی کشتی مرے کس کام کی تھی
وہ کہانی کہ ابھی سوئیاں نکلیں بھی نہ تھیں
فکر ہر شخص کو شہزادی کے انجام کی تھی
یہ ہوا کیسے اڑا لے گئی آنچل میرا
یوں ستانے کی تو عادت مرے گھنشیام کی تھی
بوجھ اٹھاتے ہوئے پھرتی ہے ہمارا اب تک
اے زمیں ماں تری یہ عمر تو آرام کی تھی
