Sauda Mohammad Rafi Poetry - Mirza Mohammad Rafi Sauda was a 17th Century canonical Poet from Delhi. Although he migrated to numerous places, the land of Delhi put on him a major influence. Sauda Mohammad was born as a son of aristocrat and lived a life of luxury and quite comfort. Unattached with the mercantile businesses of his family, he found his spiritual, intellectual and career escalation in courts.

Sauda Mohammad left Delhi when the city was being hunted by sheer misfortune. Traveling several places in Uttar Pradesh, Sauda found Lucknow as the destination. Nawab Asifuddaulah patronized him and rewarded with an annual stipend of rupees six thousand. He initially wrote in Persian, before coming to Urdu.
