کیوں ملی تھی حیات یاد کرو
یاد رکھنے کی بات یاد کرو
کون چھوٹا کہاں کہاں چھوٹا
راہ کے حادثات یاد کرو
ابھی کل تک وفا کی راہوں میں
تم بھی تھے میرے ساتھ یاد کرو
مجھ سے کیا پوچھتے ہو حال مرا
خود کوئی واردات یاد کرو
جس دم آنکھیں ملی تھی آنکھوں سے
تھی کہاں کائنات یاد کرو
بھول آئے جبیں کو رکھ کے کہاں
کہاں پہنچے تھے رات یاد کرو
دل کو آئینہ گر بنانا ہے
آئینے کے صفات یاد کرو
نکلے گا چاند انہیں اندھیروں سے
ان سے ملنے کی رات یاد کرو
چھوڑو جانے دو جو ہوا سو ہوا
آج کیوں کل کی بات یاد کرو
کرنا ہے شاعری اگر نوشادؔ
