ذرا سی اک شرارت تھی مگر وہ اور کچھ سمجھا
مری ہر بات پر ہنسنے سے اکثر وہ الجھتا تھا
مجھے اس سے محبت تھی مگر وہ اور کچھ سمجھا
میں ہنستی تھی کہ رنج و غم مرا ظاہر نہ ہو اس پر
مقدر میں جو ظلمت تھی مگر وہ اور کچھ سمجھا
میں سن کر ٹال جاتی تھی نصیحت کی سبھی باتیں
مری دل سے بغاوت تھی مگر وہ اور کچھ سمجھا
سنانا حال دل چاہا مگر اس کو بھی جلدی تھی
بڑی اچھی حکایت تھی مگر وہ اور کچھ سمجھا
منانا چاہتی تھی سچے دل سے اے دعاؔ اس کو
اسے مجھ سے شکایت تھی مگر وہ اور کچھ سمجھا
