آ تجھے میں گنگنانا چاہتا ہوں
کوئی آنسو تیرے دامن پر گرا کر
بوند کو موتی بنانا چاہتا ہوں
تھک گیا میں کرتے کرتے یاد تجھ کو
اب تجھے میں یاد آنا چاہتا ہوں
چھا رہا ہے ساری بستی میں اندھیرا
روشنی کو، گھر جلانا چاہتا ہوں
آخری ہچکی ترے زانو پہ آئے
موت بھی میں شاعرانہ چاہتا ہوں
قتیل شفائی لفظ میرے مرے ہونے کی گواہی دیں گے
لوگ تھرا گئے جس وقت منادی آئی
آج پیغام نیا ظل الٰہی دیں گے
جھونکے کچھ ایسے تھپکتے ہیں گلوں کے رخسار
جیسے اس بار تو پت جھڑ سے بچا ہی دیں گے
ہم وہ شب زاد کہ سورج کی عنایات میں بھی
اپنے بچوں کو فقط کور نگاہی دیں گے
آستیں سانپوں کی پہنیں گے گلے میں مالا
اہل کوفہ کو نئی شہر پناہی دیں گے
شہر کی چابیاں اعدا کے حوالے کر کے
تحفتاً پھر انہیں مقتول سپاہی دیں گے

اک مسکراہٹ عمر بھر کی میری عادت کر گئی۔
تیرا چہرہ چاند سے بڑھ کر لگا ہر موڑ پر،
تیری آنکھوں کی چمک ہر روشنی سے بڑھ گئی۔
تیری زلفوں کی گھٹا جب میرے دل پر چھا گئی،
پھول کی خوشبو بھی اپنی خوشبو بھول سی گئی۔
تو حسیں ہے، اس میں کوئی دوسرا مطلب نہیں،
پر تجھے اپنے ہی حسن پر اتنی انا زیب نہیں۔
کبھی میری بے قراری کی خبر بھی تو لیا کر،
صرف اپنی ہی ادا پر ہر گھڑی نازاں نہ رہ۔
میں نے ہر دھڑکن میں بس تیرا ہی نام لکھ دیا،
تو نے میرے عشق کو شاید تماشا جان لیا۔
یہ بھی سچ ہے، تُو دعا ہے میری قسمت کے لیے،
یہ بھی سچ ہے، تُو نے اکثر دل مرا آزردہ کیا۔
اک تبسم دے کے پھر نظریں چرا لینا تری،
قتل بھی کرتا ہے اور الزام بھی لیتا نہیں۔
میں اگر خاموش ہوں تو یہ نہ سمجھ بے وفا،
دل کی دنیا میں محبت شور کم کرتی نہیں۔
آج بھی ہر دعا میں تیرا ہی ذکر آتا ہے،

سکون چھینا، محبت کو مٹا ڈالا ہے
خزانے بڑھتے گئے، پیاس بجھتی ہی نہیں
یہ کیسی آگ ہے جس نے سب کھا ڈالا ہے
انا، غرور، لالچ میں بکھر گئے رشتے
حرص نے ہر تعلق کو جدا کر ڈالا ہے
سکون چاہا تو شکر نے راستہ دکھایا
حرص نے جنت کا در بھی چھپا ڈالا ہے
اصل راحت قناعت میں ہی ملتی ہے حنا
حرص نے آدمی کو خاک بنا ڈالا ہے

نیند سے مجھ کو اٹھایا اور بس
تپتے صحرا اور جلتی دھوپ میں
میں رہا اور میرا سایہ اور بس
روزگارِ تلخ نے فرصت نہ دی
زندگی نے غم کمایا اور بس
گھر کی خاطر عمر بھر لڑتا رہا
اپنا ہر ارماں گنوایا اور بس
مّے کده کا بس یہی معمول ہے
ساقی آیا جام لایا اور بس
ہم نے دنیا سے وفا مانگی مگر
ہر کسی نے دل دکھایا اور بس
نفرتوں کی آگ جب بھڑکی تو پھر
اس نے اُس کا گھر جلایا اور بس
تیری خوشبو تھی ہوا کے دوش پر
دل نے تجھ کو پاس پایا اور بس
میں اگر ٹوٹا تو ماں نے پیار سے
مجھ کو سینے سے لگایا اور بس
ماں کے قدموں میں سکوں ایسا ملا
دل نے ہر غم کو بھلایا اور بس
ہر شام کو منان کا معمول ہے

مدتیں بیت گئیں، فقط سوچتا رہا وہ شخص

چیخیں، پکاریں سب کی حصولِ یار کے لیے
سرہانا بھی بھیگ گیا، اتنا رویا وہ شخص
تھا وہ بھی عبد، کتنا ہی برداشت کرتا
بدقسمت، اس مقابلے میں بھی ہار گیا وہ شخص عبداللہ احتشام
