پرانے شناسا کی مانند ہم کسی یاد میں کوندا بن کر لپکیں گے
یا ہمیشہ کے لیے یادداشت کے خانوں سے مٹا دیے جائیں گے
یا ہمارےجگہ کوئی دوسرے عکس سجالیےجائیں گے
اور ہم کو پلکوں میں آنسو جتنی جگہ بھی نہ مل پائے گی
اور ویرانوں میں اپنی شناخت ڈھونڈتے ڈھونڈتے اک دن
ہم بھی دیوانے ہوجائیں گے
اور کوئی ہماری طرف قدم بڑھائے گا تو محض پتھر مارنے کی خاطر
مگر اس میں نیا کیا ہوگا
کہ یہ پتھر تو ہم برسوں سے بمع ہوش و حواس کھاتے آرہے ہیں
تو کیا یہ طے رہا کہ زندگی کا تمام تر تکلیف دہ سفر
فقط اس پہلے پتھر اور آخری پتھر کا درمیانی فاصلہ طے کرنے کی خاطر کاٹا گیا تھا
یہ تمام تر محض اک دن گمنام پڑے مر جانے کی خاطر لڑی گئی تھی
یا اس سفر کی کوئی دوسری حقیقت بھی تھی؟
اور اگر تھی تو کیا تھی
کیونکہ زندگی تو ہر خاص و عام
اعلیٰ و ادنیٰ کو کچلتی چلی جارہی ہے
پگڑی والوں کی پگڑیاں
تخت والوں کے تاج اور گدا والوں کے خالی کٹورے
ایک ہی جیسے اپنے بے رحم پنجوں میں جکڑ کر
روندے جاتی ہے
کسی ایسے پرندے کی مانند جو گھڑی بھر کہیں رکا ہواپنے پروں کا سایہ کسی اونچی حویلی کی منڈیر پر پھیلا کر
اس کے مکینوں کو بدبختی دان کر دور اڑ چلا ہو۔
